Have you ever tried to describe where something is or how to get there to your friends on Grand Theft Auto 4? Well if you haven’t, it gets really confusing but now theres a solution. A website has launched called “GTA SnapMap” what it does is allows you to set a “blip” on the section of the map you want and then show your friends you map by using the URL’s they provide.

As most of you aware, it’s no secret that the Australian and New Zealand version of GTA IV is different to the ones that have been sold anywhere else in the world. Cuts have had to be made to ensure that the game could be released in Australia, with the un-cut version not going to be able to get accepted. So in Australia the game is now rated MA 15+ which is the highest a game can rate but just what is missing from Australia’s version of GTA 4?
Heres a quote from PalGN of some of the things that the version has cut out,
“According to Mick, when players pick up a prostitute in the Australian version, there is no way to select a ‘service’ from the prostitute. The sexual intercourse sex animation has also been completely removed, so players will only see the car bounce from a locked rear-view. In the uncut version, after selecting a service from the prostitute, players can rotate the camera to see the prostitute’s actions.”
Aussies are also missing out on enhanced blood effects such as blood pools, bloody footprints and seems to be also missing tyre tracks.
If you got the special edition of GTA4 when you bought your copy, you would know that you get a safety deposit box with it which you can use to stash things in and hide them, such as money, valuables and more, however one guy has used his deposit box and took it to an entire new level.
Mark Harris has used the deposit box and created a Mini-ITX PC from it, and it’s a good size as well, around the size of a hardcover book, take a look at the picture below.

We all know how popular Grand Theft Auto IV has been since it’s been released, and as expected some people are kicking up a stink about the violence but the game may have lead to one major controversies.
Devin Moore, an 18 year old male has been accused of killing police officers and his lawyers are blaming the game for encouraging him to commit this crime.

A patch has been released for PlayStation 3 users of Grand Theft Auto IV. You will be prompted to download the update the next time you load GTA IV whilst being signed into the PlayStation Network. While download and installation is required to continue playing the game; totaling 18 MB, it shouldn’t keep you away for too long.
As for content, the patch addresses certain online issues related to GameSpy’s servers being overloaded. Not surprising, considering the sheer number of those playing the game.
Rockstar Games has released a GTA IV patch for Playstation 3 today that prevents the GameSpy servers from being overloaded and therefore reduces the impact on those servers that were causing the game to stutter and lock up. We continue to monitor the performance of the game both on and offline and will provide further updates as necessary.
